WolleXDP

WolleXDP is my DJ alias. I dont want to feel that old, but I guess Im one of those infamous techno lifers. In the middle of my youth in East Berlin, the fall of the Wall and the new freedom arrived in 1989. I took advantage of this moment to finally live out my then revolutionary way of staging events. Together with my friends, I developed the concept of X.D.P., which stands for Ecstasy Dance Project. In its most radical form, this became TEKKNOZID, and what is today commonly referred to as a techno party. This may sound a little strange to those reading this for the first time, but it is described in much the same way in almost all retrospectives on techno history ( Klang der Familie, Loveparade O-Töne einer Bewegung, We Call It Techno, Wikipedia etcpp).
But that is history. And while I am quite proud of it, I dont live in the past. I am far from tired and still love to dissolve into an excessive unity with many like-minded people, carried by the rhythm of the music. That is my passion, and it has inspired people at countless parties and clubs worldwide, and still does today.
Since early 2012, I no longer play vinyl (except at classic parties), but use a kind of DJ keyboard, the Traktor S4. Even though the storage medium itself, whether CD, vinyl, or laptop, hardly justifies the endless analog vs. digital debates, this change was so significant for me that I cant leave it unmentioned. As a DJ, this system change was and remains one of the most important changes since I switched from cassette to vinyl in 1989. To truly understand this, it is probably not enough to listen to my sets, you have to experience it yourself, preferably on the dance floor :)
You can find a selection of current recordings of my sets at SoundCloud.
